Meet AbbyHi there!
I am Abby Ryan. I am a Salt Lake City native and love everything about the valley and mountains that surround us. I am a kindergarten teacher who loves her job! In my free time I enjoy going on walks with Scout and Mitch, traveling to new places, Marco Polo-ing my sisters, as well as eating and making yummy food. I'm on a life long hunt for the world's best chocolate chip cookie recipe. I also love making cakes, it is my New Year’s goal to make a cake each month. Mitch and I love a good board game and are slightly embarrassed at the number in our game closet. Our current favorites are Settlers Of Catan and Duel. My favorite holiday is the Fourth of July. My closet and I wait for it all year long. I have been called a lot of things in my life; Abby the babysitter, Auntie Abs, Nanny Abba, and Mrs. Ryan. But the name I long for the most is Mamma. Being a mom is something I have always dreamed of. I played dolls for much longer than I should have (hello Jr. High nerd!) I always envisioned my life full of children, in my classroom and in my home. After caring for so many other children in my life I am so ready to have a child of my own. Mitch and I have been married for 6 years. In that time we both knew we wanted to have children. When we are with our families you can often find us holding the babies or playing games with our many nieces and nephews. Leaving school and family functions our backseat and extra bedrooms feel incomplete. We have experienced the torture of infertility, the heart ache of pregnancy loss and now feel prompted to pursue adoption. It has taken us a long time, but we now understand that joy and grief can coexist. We are happy individually and together, yet yearn for days filled with fingerprints on the mirrors and dirty diapers in the trash. We pray for the day our family can grow, and pray for you, the expectant mom/family. |
Meet Mitch
Hello! My name is Mitch Ryan and I am 28 years old. I am a registered nurse. I have worked in healthcare for over 6 years; connecting and caring for others have brought me great joy and many learning experiences in my life. Helping people navigate vulnerable experiences, both physically and emotionally, brings me a lot of joy and purpose in my life. I love to be outdoors and be active. You will often find me trail running, hiking, biking and fishing. Those activities are awesome and are even better when I get to do them with people I love. I am slowly converting Abby into an avid hiker, but I haven’t convinced her to fish with me quite yet. People that know me also know that I love to read. I enjoy reading books that teach new ideas or bring new perspectives to my life. I have quite a collection of books and love to share what I learn. Abby and I are passionate about adopting and look forward to the day when we can add another to our family. We consider fatherhood and motherhood to be the most important duties in society. We have looked forward to having the opportunity of being parents and having the honor of raising kids. For this reason, we are looking to adopt. |
Meet Scout
Meet Scout. He is our four year old fur baby who thinks he's a human. He enjoys family walks, all kinds of fruit and long snuggles on the couch. He thinks everyone who comes to our house is there to see him and won't let them leave without a nice pat on the head or belly rub. We love him, the happiness he adds to our home and the many adventures we do together.
